Hunspell is a spell checker and morphological analyzer library and program designed for languages with rich morphology and complex compounding or character encoding.

Software Details

Hunspell is based on MySpell and is backward-compatible with MySpell dictionaries. While MySpell uses a single-byte character encoding, Hunspell can use Unicode UTF-8-encoded dictionaries.

Hunspell is the spell checker of LibreOffice, OpenOffice.org and Mozilla Firefox 3 & Thunderbird, Google Chrome, Lyx, Opera 10+.

Hunspell interfaces include: Curses, Ispell compatible pipe interface, OpenOffice.org UNO module

Windows users can download the hunspell executable and needed dlls from here:

You can use 7zip to extract the files.
